APLS Course Information

The APLS covers the following areas:

:: Life Support – basic and advanced; 
:: Serious Illness; 
:: Serious injury, and
:: Practical procedures, including radiology and pain management.


The outcomes of the course include:
  • :: Increased confidence in performance basic life support;
  • :: Increased ability to respond to an airway/ breathing problem in a child;
  • :: Increased confidence in performing advanced life support;
  • :: Increased confidence in resuscitation;
  • :: Increased awareness in recognising the seriously ill child;
  • :: Increased knowledge in assessing children with breathing difficulties;
  • :: An increased awareness of how to assess a child in shock; and
  • :: Increased awareness of the causes of convulsion in infants and children and how to manage and treat them.

If you have an interest in becoming an APLS Course Instructor, please advise your mentor during the course in which you are a candidate.  You will be formally invited by the APLS CEO should the faculty deem you a good candidate to become an APLS Instructor.


Course Fees

The Course fees are as follows,

$1920 for a full candidate position, where upon completion an accredited certificate is awarded
$980 for an observer position*, where upon completion a certificate of attendance is presented
