Dr Terry Brown gives the 2013 Toni Medcalf Oration – on APLS instructor attributes and what makes a good medical educator.

Speaker biography:
Terry is an Emergency Physician working at the Royal Hobart Hospital. He graduated in the UK in 1985 and has tried a variety of jobs (GP, intensivist, medical educator) and hopes to eventually find one that he is good at. He is currently Chair of the Postgraduate Medical Education Council of Tasmania and final year coordinator for the School of Medicine at the University of Tasmania. He has been teaching on APLS courses since 1993, and has taught both APLS and the instructor course in a number of countries in the years since. He has no hobbies and occasionally has to be reminded what his family looks like.
